Obviously things like Skype or Ventrillo or any number of other VoIP services are there for the audio already. But I like the idea of how audio is adjusted based on where you are in the office. Allows you to “move” to someone to talk to them, or move away from a group of “chatty” people if they start to get a little too off topic for you.

I would think this could be implemented in some way fairly easily and could a great application for remote workers.
